Steven R Trent is a rockabilly guitar playing, roots music musician from North Canton Ohio. On a cold winter’s day in January 2011, Steve decided to form a One Man Band when he ran across a 4 dollar suitcase in a Canton Ohio thrift store and realized it made a great sounding bass drum He then built himself a “snare drum” by slapping together a homemade plywood box and attaching some vintage license plates, Throw in a couple of cheap drum pedals, and the Flat Broke One Man Band was in business. Since opening up shop in January 2011, Steven R Trent’s Flat Broke One Man Band has been tearing up stages all over Ohio and the rest of the Midwest (PA, MI, IN, WV, WI, and so on), with the fiery brand of rockabilly mayhem he’s best known for; but now fusing in more roots music, proving that he’s always had the soul of a bluesman and the heart of a country western troubadour. With original songs like Truck Stop Gravy, and the Ghost of a Cheater, as well an extensive catalog of his own souped up versions of rockabilly, country western, and juke joint standards and obscurities; SRT’s live shows are always a foot stomping good time.
