Pop and Rock
The Romanian pop band Stigma was founded in 1998 Cornel Sorian and Emanuel Mirea in the Transylvanian town of Satu Mare, in a booming period of Romanian pop music. In 1999 Stigma signs first contract with A & A Records disc (licensed Warner Music), and in the spring of that year released the album "So Real" (Romanian title: "Atât De Real") - "an album of searching, full of uncertainty and artistic outbursts", followed in 2000 by "It's Not Your Fault" (Romanian title: "Nu-i Vina Ta"). Their 2001 album "Hotel of Thousand Stars" (Romanian title: "Hotel De Mii De Stele") it was well received by public and critics. 2002 finds Emanuel spend increasingly more time in Cluj and Cornel becoming father and dedicating most of his time to the family duties. Distance, stress of the live tours, growing media attention and some differences of opinion make their friendship to a halt and, as the band's fame and success were growing, internal disputes seemed harder to resolve, leading to Emanuel deciding to leave Stigma. Cornel, forced by circumstances, co-opted a new lead singer, Claudiu Mirica and released few more albums, while Emanuel launches into a solo career enjoying average success and releasing two solo albums. In 2011 the two were seen several times and desire for music and said the word. In January 2012, Emanuel and Cornel met in London and… from there on the music "just happened" by itself. After 10 years of separate roads, Stigma opens a new chapter, more mature, more experienced, but equally enthusiastic, honest and fresh as the first day.
