German choir from Berlin, founded April 22nd, 1969 by Eddy Rhein and Klaus Scheithe. The choir consisted of amateur vocalists and had a very broad repertory: Movie & TV music, operette, folk, religious chorales and operas. On November 25th, 1969, the chorale gave its first concert in the Berliner Philharmonie. Additional to their program, which they gave more than 60 times, the choir also performed world premiers of new musical pieces, as 'Canticum sacrum 70' by Eddy Rhein and 'Botschaft' by Wolfgang Steffen. Stefan Bevier, leader of the Philharmonia Chorus, led the chorus in the 1980's. He was followed by Joachim Geiger in 1996 and Alexander Lebek in 2016.
