Electronic and Pop
Sudeten Crèche began in 1980 as a sonic art project by Yvette Döll (artistic direction, lyrics). The first recordings, unreleased but occasionally used as source material, were made in 1981 as a duo with Paul Carlin (lyrics, vocals). The first public releases were "Are Kisses Out Of Fashion?" and "Dance" on the 1982 compilation EP Europe In The Year Zero, which was conceived by the band. Mark Warner (2) was apparently also in the band in 1982, though he has been written out of recent bios. In 1983, members Baz Voce (guitar) and Tim Wharton (bass) were added, and the group briefly toured with Nico. The new lineup recorded "Kindergarten" and "Asylums" that year. In 2006, after a long period of inactivity, Carlin and Warner reformed the group and released new material as well as reissues of old. Warner departed in 2012. In 2015, Carlin and founder Yvette Döll began recording new Sudeten Crèche material.
