Sugarcoma

Bio Fun, Retro-Tinged Indie Pop Rock!! Sugarcoma is a female fronted band from the Greater Boston area that primarily plays all original music with a retro rock/pop/surf sound (plus the odd tasty cover or two). Founded in 1986 by Paula Vivier-Porcelli (lead guitar and lead vocals) and Michele Kiersey (drummer and back-up vocals), they quickly built a strong following of fans and rocked clubs, festivals and music venues throughout New England. More recent additions to the band include Elizabeth Lorrey (keyboards and backup vocals) and Marc Feldman (bass and backup vocals). Paula is a true artist and craftsman when it comes to writing music. She has been writing and arranging carefully tailored tunes her entire career and has built an extensive library of original music that the band brings to a full, energetic life. Sugarcoma normally focuses on playing music live rather than being a recording studio band. That changed this summer to the delight of their fans when they entered the studio once again to produce their first album in several years entitled “42 Foot Wave”. This album was formally released at a CD release party on Nov 4th 2017 to a packed house of eager fans. It’s now available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby as well as this site and is always obtainable at Sugarcoma shows.
