A.k.a. Kenneth Sumter
Sumy (from 'Surinam Baby', a nickname given to him by his friends) was born August 1957 in Paramaribo, Surinam. Initially playing on selfmade instruments as a hobby, Sumy started his music career in 1979 with buying real instruments (a Hammond organ, a Rhodes piano and a PPG synthesizer), writing, recording and releasing his first single 'Going Insane' on his own Sumy Records label and performing with his band 'The Freaky Thangs'. The early 80's saw Sumy signing a licence deal with Philips for two singles, 'The Funky "G" (Only Comes At Night)' and 'Funkin' In Your Mind', recording and releasing an LP, 'Tryin' To Survive' and founding his own record label 'Galaxy Records'. From 1986, he goes by the name 'Krisnallah', still making music and performing live.
