Printed jacket: blue front with black line drawings and "SUN RA", blank white back cover. No other text appears on the jacket. "Saturn Presents Sun Ra and His Arkestra" on the labels. The title of the album only appears on the labels. This LP was also released under the title 'Deep Purple'. Recorded between 1953 and 1955 in Chicago Saturn P.O. Box 7124 Chicago, Ill. 60607 Side A was recorded in the late 50's and side B in the '60s. According to the Sun Ra Omniverse book: A1 was recorded in either 1953 or 1954 Other tracks on side A recorded around 1955 in Chicago Side B possibly recorded 1973 in Philadelphia
