Dance (Drum’n’Bass)
The seventh release from Ukrainian imprint 22:22 sees Sunchase collaborate with his mates to deliver four seriously heavy pieces of dancefloor drum'n'bass. Joining forces with I Wannabe, he starts by delivering Kick Serve - an explosive summery blend of upright piano and techstep, taking you on a journey through genre's foundations and principles with its bare, powerful groove and raw bassline. A nod to the hardcore era completes the picture. Things continue with Top Spin, but on a seriously deeper level. Luscious textures and strings provide a gentle company to uncompromising bass with the sharpest of breaks, to leave none of your senses untouched. Alexander and Andrew wrap things up nicely with Slice - tense, hypnotic roller augmented with extra intricate edits and melodic movement. Constantly shifting and moving around the proper bass flow this track usurps your attention from first to last second. And to top it all off comes Cxema - another example of when Sunchase meets Detail they mean business. This half-step monster invites you into a horror movie with its cinematic feel and dark, drone groove. The boys are continuing their habit of taking things to the edge when collaborating, started with their joint effort for 2222 005. Sound systems are on red alert for this one.
