Supe

Band, JP
Rock
A.k.a. Supe

About supe supe (pronounced "shoop") was originally formed in Japan back in 1999. Created by vocalist and front-man "Kihiro", Supe was mostly just a fun project. "Guitarist, "ARI" and I were in high school together and he seemed to be the only guy I could talk"rock" to in Japan" says Kihiro. Their friendship and a shared drive for the stage eventually became the nucleus for Supe. After the band's second show they received a "designated promoter" which resulted in sharing the stage with a number of well known acts such as, Dee Dee Ramone, Factory 81, Faster Pussy Cat, D.R.I., Mugg, Engines of Aggression and GIGANTOR. It didnft much matter what the style was; Hip Hop, Punk, Rock or Pop, Supe rocked hard and always left the crowd wanting more. "It's cool because in Japan, so many big bands come from all over the world and we've had the opportunity to rock the stage with a bunch of great groups while staying in Japanh explained Kihiro. By 2002, from the connections created in Japan, Supe launched their first US tour which included shows in multiple Los Angeles and San Diego cities. Never satisfied with sitting and waiting for things to happen, Supe is about jump-starting their futures in the music industry. From deep in the "hood" Supe defied the odds to do what others could only talk about. They walked away from growing success in Japan in order to pursue bigger dreams and a world-wide audience. Their tour of America was just a tease. Late in 2002 Supe took up residency in California's South Bay, only minutes from Hollywood's Sunset Strip. The metamorphous of Supe was complete. Vocalist Kihiro and Guitarist ARI rounded out their line up with Toru on Bass, Takeshi on Guitar and pounding the drums is RyoZ. Supe continued writing, rehearsing and playing live shows including the Whisky-A-Go-Go in Hollywood as well as many other South Bay, OC and San Diego venues. Plus, the band traveled to Japan two or three times yearly for a series of shows in front of their loyal fans. Supe recorded a two-song demo disc which features Good Face and Mirage Recorded and Engineered by Steve Duda (Methods of Mayhem, Nine Inch Nails).
