Marc Almond created his alter ego Suraya Ahmed for the song She Took My Soul In Istanbul. He duetted with himself with his voice speeded up. When the record was released the "journalist around the world thought Ahmed was a Turkish torch singer and wanted to know more". Originally Almond wanted to sing the song with one of the Turkey's famous transsexual torch singers.
