Band,
Rock and World
Susan's Room is built around the songs and voice of Susan Streitwieser. She grew up listening to The Beatles, Smokey Robinson and Joni Mitchell, all of whom influenced her melodic, intelligent songs. Susan grew up in Berkeley, California, got some degrees, sang in rock bands, delivered singing telegrams dressed as a table, taught doo-wop to Zen Buddhists (among others). In 1991 she moved to Los Angeles where she hooked up with her future Room-mates Tom Manche, Ritt Henn and Albe Bonacci. Their first two albums received critical acclaim and nationwide radio airplay, and early 1999 saw the release of two new albums, the starker, acoustic "Thinner" and its boisterous sibling "Thicker."
