American Cellist, Music Educator Member of the Oxford Piano Trio Susan Gaston has served on the music faculty of The University of Mississippi School of Music since 1997 as adjunct instructor of violoncello and string bass, and as cellist with the Oxford Piano Trio. Her degrees include a BA in Music from Duke University, and MM in Cello Performance from the University of Arizona, where she studied with Gordon Epperson. Before moving to Oxford, Gaston was on the faculty of McNeese State University, where she taught cello, string bass, music history and music appreciation courses. She has extensive experience as an orchestral cellist with the Tucson, Lake Charles, Rapides, and Beaumont (TX) Symphony Orchestras and as a chamber musician with the Catalina Quartet, Tucson Symphony Quartet, the Tucson Chamber Music Co-op, the Calcasieu Quartet, and the McNeese Piano Trio. She performs frequently with the LOU Symphony, the Tupelo Symphony, and is co-founder of the Sarah Isom Trio.
