Indian vocalist with a master's degree in music, both parents vocalists, sister of innovative Hindustani slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya and percussionist Subhashis Bhattacharya. She is capable of singing fluently in the 10 most well-known languages in India and covers most genres of Indian music, from classical and semi-classical to traditional folk songs to film songs, both classic and contemporary. Sutapa’s music institute Swar-O-Shruti was established in 1991 in Kolkata.
