Sveže Amputirana Ruka Satriania

Band, GB
Rock, Reggae and Pop

S.A.R.S. was formed in 2006 at Belgrade, Serbia. Their sound can be described as a mix of styles from pop/rock/reggae/hip-hop to music with serbian folk themes. S.A.R.S. is short from "Sveže amputirana ruka Satriania" or in English "Fresh amputated arm of Satriani". Their most popular song is "Buđav Lebac" which was a big summer hit in Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian underground scene. In 2008. S.A.R.S., Sajsi, Rekontra & Institut were chosen by Diskomer (Studio B's music show on radio), to play live at Akademija on their Pravo sa Diskomera gig. Group received the award for musical discovery in 2008. from TV Metropolis, and won two more awards for the debut band & best single in 2008. from the Internet magazine Popboks by their online public voting polls. However, only two months later, Popboks review of the album was heavily criticizing, calling it: "Thin layer of simpleton humor and cheaper formal experimentation, smeared over a thick piece of nothing". S.A.R.S. released their album for PGP RTS in March 2009. Producer was Đorđe Miljenović (better known under his hip-hop alter ego Wikluh Sky) and there were many guest musicians on the record: Nemanja Kojić (Eyesburn), Aleksandar Sedlar (IQ), Nikola Demonja (Havana whisper) etc. At the same time with the albums release, animated video came out for the song "Buđav Lebac", animation was done by Serbian illustrator Aleksa Gajić. During 2009. came a change in the bands line up, also songs "Ana", "Sindrom Lidera Male Stranke" & "Đuričko" were omitted from the future repertoire, because the band members which left the band have rights to them. New line up of the band had it's first live debut at Letnji Festival. They shared stage with Kanda, Kodža i Nebojša, 357, Pero Defformero & consecration. On 1st August 2009. band held a promo concert for their new video "Debeli Lad". Bands second album "Perspektiva" was released as an mp3 on MTV.rs in 2011.
