World, Folk and Classical
The Choir Hall, St Johns Road, Manselton, Swansea. SA5 8PP The choir has a long and interesting history dating back to the dark days of the Second World War, when a group of Air Raid Wardens discussed the possibility of forming a male choir. As a result of that conversation a meeting was held on a November evening in 1946 in the vestry of Manselton Congregational Chapel and the Manselton and District Male Choir was born. T Emrys Jones, chapel organist, choir master and famed composer of the hymn tune Morte Criste, became our choir’s first Musical Director.
