Awakening the Sacred Fire is sensual World trance music, with an eastern influence. It features lush vocal harmonies, poly-rhythmic beats, and lyrics that speak to the soul. It is a sonic feast for dancing and listening -- to awaken the Sacred Fire within. What people are saying: "Awakening The Fire Within is a wonderful weave of strong songwriting with trance dance sounds all spun together with threads of Sylvia Brallier's liquid flute playing." Shawna Carol, Goddess Chant. "This CD represents a soundscape of musical emotion, reflecting the soul and passion of a creative artist." Julius P. Williams Professor of Composition Berklee College of Music Music Director of the Washington Symphony Orchestra Director, Visionary Records The Story Behind The CD Sylvia has been playing music since she was a small child. Through the years, she has been in various bands and duets. This CD is her first solo project. In 1989 she was part of a group of musicians, artists and activists called,A.M.U.S.E.- Artists & Musicians United to Save the Earth. AMUSE created live music, art and dance videos for cable television, which promoted organizations like UNICEF, Amnesty International, and Rainforest Action Network. These videos were acquired and used by close to 200 cable stations. They are still aired today. From 1996-1998 she was part of a group called "Tantric Rhythm Ride", which did dance and music performances; creating multi-media production pieces for people To experience. They were well received in the New England area. In 1999, Sylvia began to work on a CD-which was her lifelong dream. All the prep work was done-she had composed the pieces and had started to record the music. Then she had a major health crisis which almost killed her and left her in a wheelchair. For the next seven months she was, to use her own words, "on the edge of death." It took fifteen months to recover, and her recovery has been so amazing that even the doctors cannot believe that she has done so well, but she is dancing (not just walking, but DANCING!) again. What brought her back was her music. Now you can finally hear that music.
