Ever since the early days of expressional jazz-music,jazz fused with other types of music, has always been an interesting combination. Latin-jazz, jazz-funk and even jazz-rock, but as we slowly move to the nineties, music experience change once again. For now we are in the era of hiphop, a culture which consists of breakdancing, graffiti and also has its own undaunted style of music called rap. The PD 3/Syncopated-Productions are three producers who grown up in the hiphop-era, but have been brought up on jazz. Mysterious K, Dego and DJ Biznizz have all grown up in environments where jazz was a musical preference, and being exposed to such an influential type of music at such an early age sparked a flame of musical awareness in each of the three. Today that awareness is what has brought the three together, building on the influence that they all have all shared. This CD, the collection of payday-recordings volume one, is an array of jazzy beats, rap and live instrumentation, this collaboration of musical styles is what keeps the listener enthrallened. There musical influence stretch from Donald Byrd to Roy Ayers to A Tribe Called Quest, many groups have mixed jazz with alternative types of music, but this CD takes in to another level.
