First group name used by Charles Curl & Bill Hurd, who have been making music together since they met while in graduate schools in the Boston area in the early 1970s—Bill at MIT and Charles at Harvard Law. They released 3 albums: Magic Music (as Synthesis), Tongo (as Hip Pocket), and Return of the Hip (as Curl & Hurd).
