T.A.X. as founded in Duisburg, Germany and formed by Michael Bormann and his brother Dirk in 1987 after the end of High Voltage a band also formed by Bormann brothers. The band then evolved in 1987 after Peter Hanke joined, they went from a school band to a profession group, calling themselves T.A.X.. The group carried on from there until Michael Müller and ex-Mad Max drummer Axel Kruse joined the band in 1990. The two new additions were not very keen on the band name so after some discussion, the group renamed themselves and changed their name to Jaded Heart.
