Album DE 2006 on Deutsche Grammophon label
Soundtrack (Score)
Following up his Oscar®- and Grammy®-winning soundtrack to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", the Chinese-American composer Tan Dun has written this stunning score for "The Banquet" - a tale of intrigue and murder, inspired by Hamlet and set in 10th-century China. In his own words, it is "both classical and modern, romantic and percussive". Like all Tan Dun's work, it transcends the boundaries of classical, multimedia, Eastern and Western. Tan Dun appears by special arrangement with Sony Classical. ℗ 2006 Deutsche Grammophon GmbH, Hamburg, a Universal Music Company under exclusive license from Parnassus Productions Inc.
