A.k.a. Ty Leon Thompson Afrodiziaks DJ Ride (3) Leon Thompson (3) Templeton Peck The Force Of One
English record label owner, record producer and DJ. He currently produces and directs music videos for the likes of Shy FX and Pendulum. He hails from West London and has an ethnic background that includes Trinidadian, English and Ghanaian roots. His introduction to making music came from a conversation about music production with Dr. S. Gachet as well as speaking to his uncle who was a sound engineer. He is one of a select group of Artists including Shy FX, Masterstepz, D Influence & Shola Ama that originated from the “Jamestown” Recording studios in Whitechapel East London. His eye for talent and his entrepreneurial skills have seen him collaborating with a wealth of artists from the genres of Jungle, Drum'n'Bass to UK Garage. After setting up a Jungle Label Riddim Track Records and recording for Reinforced Records,he moved into UK Garage in the late 90s,Creating the labels Vital Essence and Solid City, as well as becoming a resident DJ at a night called Liberty at the club Colosseum. His tune Fly Bi (with Sparks & Kie) became one of the top UK Garage tunes of the day. His talent for spotting and signing up-and-coming artists, right at the start of the 1990s UK Garage takeover of the national music charts, saw him instrumental in the early success of Grime acts Pay As You Go Cartel with “Know We” and Roll Deep with “Terrible”. Currently he makes music videos for other artists as well as himself, films and interviews DJs at raves such as Jungle Mania, and is currently involved in making two music documentaries.
