Tempest was a Christian metal band founded by songwriter/guitarist Mick Rowe in 1985 in Evansville, IN, as a one man band named Travail. After a band name change, the band recorded two albums on the Pure Metal Records label. Later, it turned out that Pure Metal was under the impression that they had signed another band with the same name from Ohio. After disbanding in 1990, members later became part of bands such as Guardian (3), Midnight Orchestra (2), Goliath (21) and Mindset 7.
