Teppei Teranishi (born September 13, 1980) is the lead guitarist and keyboardist of the post-hardcore band Thrice from Orange County, California. He is of Japanese-American descent. In addition to guitar and keyboard duties, he also provides backing vocals for Thrice's live performances. He favors Gibson Les Paul guitars and Fender Telecasters among others. He is also in a side project called Black Unicorn with his friend Chris Jones. At a young age, he began to learn classical guitar and was influenced by heavy metal bands Pantera and Megadeth. Eventually, he moved onto the punk scene. Teranishi is a Beatles fanatic, and a fan of classic 50's, 60's, and early 70's acts.[citation needed]
