Album US 1981 on Nonesuch label
Classical and Soundtrack (Modern)
About this Album Lotte Lenya, Kurt Weill's widow, once told Teresa Stratas that "nobody can sing Weill's music better than you do" and offered the singer this set of previously unpublished songs to perform. The New York Times called it a "landmark" recording that "blended theatrical spunk with classical vocalism." Nonesuch Records would like to express its appreciation to Diane Brooks, Ron Freed, Ruth Manne, and Edgar Vincent for their assistance in the making of this album. Special thanks to Lotte Lenya Weill and the Kurt Weill Foundation. Photographs reprinted courtesy of Lotte Lenya Weill. Gatefold sleeve with 4 pg booklet glued to the inside at the fold.
