Album US 2010 on 75 Records label
Classical (Contemporary, Twelve-tone, Modern)
This LP was released in two editions, one with a color cover, each signed by both artist Dave Muller and the Calder Quartet. Those were each numbered by hand in an edition of 75 to commemorate Terry's 75th birthday. The edition listed here has a black and white cover, and was also done in a very small edition, but uncertain as to total run. Each vinyl disc is a slightly different combination of colored vinyl, with no two alike. Colors ranging from yellow & blue, to green, and many others. ----- Back Cover: Recorded: Los Angeles April 25th and 26th, 2008 engineered by Matthew Snyder artwork by Dave Muller For Terry on his 75th birthday: June 24th, 2010 Insert: "I had to wait a 1/2 century for the String Quartet 1960 to be brought to life by these Calder guys... who manifest a peaceful sound chamber filled with wonderful slow moving dream shapes floating through the room." ---- "The Calder performance of the string trio has really impressed me... the more I hear it, the more I appreciate the power, energy and finesse they bring to this piece which was a big transitional moment for me in finding my voice in the 60's." --Terry Riley Additional notes about the quartet, their work and their interactions with Terry Riley. ---- 75 Records Pasadena, CA 91104
