Amongst the most infamous of Beatlegs, excellent quality studio out-takes and unreleased tracks, combining Vols 1 and 2 into 1 package (single pocket) Identical to Ultra Rare Trax Volumes 1 & 2 but different colored labels (beige and lilac/lavender), same catalog # and jacket. Discs are not marked Disc 1/Disc 2, but sides A/B and C/D. (see photos) TRACK DETAILS: A1 I Saw Her Standing There; Take 2, 11 Feb 1963, from "Please Please Me" album session A2 One After 909; Take 2, 05 Mar 1963, during "From Me To You" single session A3 She's A Woman; Take 2, 08 Oct 1964, No lead guitar, piano or additional over dubbed vocals yet. No fade out at the end. Very primitive version. A4 I'm Looking Through You; Take 1, 24 Oct 1965. First version. no chorus made yet, no fade out. A5 If You Blow Bubbles; Take 1,18 Feb 1965. "Rubber Soul" session out-take. Mixed for the aborted "Sessions" album, 1984. A6 Take 2, 04 Sep 1962. Intended as 2nd single-follow up to Love Me Do. (mono) B1 Penny Lane; Take 9, RM9, 17 Jan 1967. Same version as on US "Rarities" album, but including dialogue and Paul's count in the beginning. Trumpet ending version. (mono) B2 Strawberry Fields Forever; Take 26, 15 Dec 1966 (version #2). Track info listed on jacket is incorrect. Takes 1, 25 and 26 of this song were played in the key of B natural. Takes 2-7 were in B flat. They are a semitone apart. No versions exist in A or C. There is also no acetate of Take 26, only of Take 7, and this isn't it. Pitched fast. B3 From Me To You; Take 2, 05 Mar 1963. Different take. No harmonica B4 Besame Mucho; First EMI Session, 06 Jun 1962. Pete Best drums. (mono) B5 Fool On The Hill; Paul's Demo, 06 Sep 1967 (mono) B6 Paperback Writer; Take 2, 13 Apr 1966. Has Paul's count-in on the right channel. Same take as the single, but a dry mix; no echo effects on vocals, and no fade-out at the end. VOL 2: C1 Can't Buy Me Love; Take 2, 29 Jan 1964. Arrangement had harmonies, recorded at EMI Pathe Marconi Studios, Paris C2-C3 There's A Place; Takes 3 & 4, 11 Feb 1963. No over-dubs. Please Please Me album session C4 That Means A Lot; Take 2, 20 Feb 1965. Unreleased song-from the Help sessions. (mono) C5-C6 Day Tripper; Takes 2 & 3; 16 Oct 1965. Take 2- no tambourine or lead guitar. Absolutely different, supposed to be the first basic. Interrupted after 23 seconds.Take 3- Used for the released version, has Paul's count-in. Basically same version as the previously released one, dry mix with over-dubs, no additional vocals dubbed by Paul. No fade-out at the end. C7 I Am The Walrus; RM4, Take 17, 6 Sep 1967 (mono) D1 Misery; Take 1, 11 Feb 1963. Please Please Me album session, no over-dubs, dry mix. (mono) D2 Leave My Kitten Alone; Take 5, 14 Aug 1964. Mixed for the aborted Sessions album, 1984. D3 We Can Work It Out; Take/mix unknown, 20 Oct 1965. Paul's count-in, with louder harmonium over-dub. Vocals on both channel. Fade-out at the end. D4 A Hard Days Night; Take 3b, 16 Apr 1964. Live performance in the studio. Absolutely different without acoustic or gat guitars, or piano. (mono) D5 Norwegian Wood; Take 4, with 2 False Starts, 21 Oct 1965. Used for the released version, no over-dubs, dry mix.
