The Detergents, an American music group, formed in 1964 in New York and had a Top 20 hit in 1965 with the rock parody "Leader of the Laundromat." A spoof of The Shangri-Las 1964 smash "Leader of the Pack". An album soon followed "The Many Faces of the Detergents", which also featured songs that were parodies of recent hits. The group actually toured and appeared in a 1966 movie, "Don't Worry I'll Think of a Title".
