Arranger of Rock
Formed in 2002, based out of Montreal – Originally from (Moncton, Halifax) This quintet has evolved fast, from self-conscious, droning post-rockers to accomplished writers and arrangers of graceful epics...built carefully with gradual emotive swells in mind, and the subtler moments, featuring soft vocals and piano, sound just as compelling as the fuzzed-out guitar outbursts. (The Mirror) Every song offers layer upon layer of expertly textured, reverb-drenched guitars over a bed of swirling organs and pulsing bass. As crescendos of crashing guitars build and descend in a fluent and fluidic motion, the band never shows a weak moment. (Exclaim) From the crunchy dissonance and upbeat tempo of “Margins Dissolve,” to the incredibly pensive atmosphere of “Dream-Miles Distant,” the Field Register exudes confidence and deft craftsmanship. Highlight track, “The Closing Scene” effortlessly allows for beautiful moods to slowly come out, making repeated listens enjoyable and surprising. Good albums can either be written endlessly about, or summed up easily, so let brevity reign: Eastern Shore is lovely, just lovely. (Exclaim) Jeannot Boudreau - Guitar, drums, vocals Gilles Castilloux - Drums, guitar, vocals Kees Dekker - Guitar, vocals David Macleod - Bass, vocals Olga Goreas - Bass Yves Bourgeois - Bass Rebecca Silverberg - Ace Tone Top 8, Fender Rhodes, vocals
