Band,
Jazz and Pop
A.k.a. The ABC Sydney Dance Band
Formed in 1932 with Cecil Fraser as it's first conductor. The whole band was replaced in 1934 by jim davidson (3)'s band. In 1941 jim gussey took over as leader when jim davidson (3) and seven of his musicians enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force. In 1969 the name was changed to The ABC Sydney Showband, a reflection of the fact that they were playing less dance music and more light styles of music. It was disbanded in 1976.
