ABOUT THE AXEHEAD JOURNAL & ITS NEW APPROACH TO RELEASING MUSIC The Axehead Journal is the creation of songwriter, producer, blogger and axe-man Guigz, which also hosts a string of first-class musicians and producers. 'The concept is simple. Songs feature like 'blog posts' and are published on a 'rolling basis' both on the site and on digital stores a couple of weeks later. The blog is updated regularly as new singles become available. We 'll also offer extras and goodies to our top users [...] In this high-tech' century I thought I wouldn't try to replicate the traditional 'album-tour' formula. So with a little help from like-minded, kick-ass musicians and technologists in the web and mobile space, we are trying out a newer and more radical approach as far as making and releasing music are concerned". The track was recorded and produced at 'The Axelab' in London, UK throughout June-July 2010. The song is now available as a free, high-quality MP3 download for a limited period on www.theaxeheadjournal.com for anyone signing up to the newsletter. The song is inspired by Jan Sleigh's adventures in the windsurfing arena... With guitar-based grooves responding to Jan's haunted vocals as the waves call him, "Riding To Destiny" is a massive gush of sound to the head... As the track progresses through dynamic and crunchy riffs, it becomes the ultimate soundtrack to the rider wrestling with the sea.
