A.k.a. Acid Angels
The Barracks are a sixties influenced rock-and-roll band (previously known as Acid Angels) from Seattle, WA formed in 2008 by lead singer/bass player Kelly Wheeler. The Barracks’ sound is heavily influenced by the likes of the Stones, The Kinks, Them, Tom Petty and early J. Geils. Wheeler previously formed the punk band Acid Angels whose original lineup hosted a revolving door of band members until the arrival of Jayme Layme on lead guitar. Jayme brought a new sixties influence to the band along with the addition of Sanders who rounded out the band’s new sound on B-3 with harmonies. Because of this new sound the name no longer fit; resulting in the name change to The Barracks. The Barracks now include Kelly Wheeler, Jayme Layme, Sanders, and Carl Klein on rhythm guitar. Once The Barracks was complete with a new sound and a new name, they recorded their first album appropriately titled: “Ex-Angels”. Ex-Angels will be available in early 2015.
