The Bee Men were contemporaries of Broadcast, Pram, Plone, L'Augmentation, Novak etc, who all hailed from Birmingham, UK in the late 1990s. The groups all covered different ground but shared a certain similar aesthetic, drawing influence from old vinyl found at car boot sales and charity shops along with odd cinema, art and literature. The Jug Of Ale was the venue. The 'Braindrop' EP was the Single Of The Month in 'Record Collector' (UK) in September 2001.
