A.k.a. Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra
Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra is a popular Czech orchestra, established in 1945 in the town of Zlín. Vojtěch Spurný is the principal conductor of the Orchestra since 2015 (with Walter Attanasi acting as the main guest conductor). The orchestra changed its name a few times, initially presented as the Symphony Orchestra of Bata National Enterprise and later known as Philharmonic Orchestra of Working People and State Symphony Orchestra of Gottwaldov Region, before finally being named after the famous Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů in the early 1989. The orchestra recorded and released a number of albums and regularly participates in radio and television concerts. The musicians had been touring around the world and performed in Italy, Denmark, Hungary, Greece, Poland, Austria, Romania, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain and the USA. Many outstanding soloists gave concerts with Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, including Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniel Schafran, Mischa Maisky, Vadim Repin, Václav Hudeček, Ivan Moravec, Eugène Indjic, Jennifer Larmore, Libuše Domanínská, Eduard Haken, Dagmar Pecková, Eva Urbanová, Rolando Villazón, and Joseph Calleja.
