The Buddy System of Boston was born in the early '80s of California new wave band The Four Cats. They performed in the Northeast States and toured the country with General Public in 1986. The video for the group's 1986 single “Go Back To Hollywood” was a winner on MTV's Basement Tapes program. In 1988, The Buddy System released a self-titled album on Chameleon Records, home of Dramarama, Christian Death, and Angelic Upstarts.
