The Captain Tripps formed in 1985 in Edinburgh and played several gigs culminating in a support slot for Husker Du at an Edinburgh University union. The band split up in 1986 with members going off to various other bands. In 2012 they reformed for a one-off gig and continued playing into 2013 when they also made their only studio recording.
