Compil. IT 2010 on Monk label
Country (Country)
This album compiles the very beginning of one of the longest lasting groups of the history of American Music. Active from 1927 to 1956, the legendary Carter Family were originally a trio and dug deeply in the musical tradition of their southwestern Virginia, bringing to light a number of gospel and folk songs that made them superstars in their day and later went on to inspire many revival groups of the Sixties and Seventies.
