Founded in 1972 by Stefan Sköld under the name of 'S:t Jacobs Ungdomskör' (St. Jakob's Youth Choir). Changed name to 'S:t Jacobs Motettkör' (well-known as St. Jacob's Church Choir) a few years later. Independent ensemble beginning from 1990. Changed name to Stockholms Motettkör in 1997.
