Album US 1978 on Mountain Records label
Country (Bluegrass)
Playing fiddle are Gil Adams, from Kingsport, Tenn., Casey Morell, who lived in California and Michigan before moving south, and David Burns, from Atlanta, Georgia. Mark Adams, Gil's brother, plays the wild banjo, and Mark and Casey do most of the lead singing. David, Casey, Mark, and Andy Wallach, the bass player, all live in Banner Elk, N.C. Mack Vannory, the guitar player lives in Deep-Gap, N.C. The band has changed personnel a few times since its beginning in 1973, and settled into the present form in the , the spring of 1977. What hasn't changed is the good feeling to their music, good whiskey and good friends. They play for fun and they have more fun than anybody, kicking up their heels and rolling their eyes. The CORKLICKERS have mostly played around their home territory, this beautiful corner of the mountains where Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia come together, but recently they have been traveling farther afield as well. This is the first album and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do listening to those fiddles play. -- Jenny Cleland, Mountain City, Tenn.
