PRODUCTION NOTES: In today's world of drum loops and auto-tune, we decided to take an old-school approach with this record. With the exception of the string quartet parts dubbed in My Funny Valentine, all tracks were performed with the whole band together, live. Many were done with all players in the same room and without the use of headphones. This method of production does not easily achieve the pristine perfection found in modern recordings, but rather, by allowing improvising musicians to play with and for one another, we get the vibe and urgency experienced at The Courtyard Kings' live shows, and that which is the essence of jazz.
