Single US 1955 on Mercury label
Pop (Vocal)
Contrary to what practically every site mentions, Tab Smith has never been involved in any capacity in the production of Chop Chop Boom. The reason why he often is mentioned as one of the writers is probably because he was at the time the most prolific artist & writer on the United (2) label (which was where Chop Chop Boom, by The Danderliers, originated) and seemingly a logical choice to be that 'Smith'. The second reason probably has to do with that the actual Smith isn't a writer at all and thus less likely to be considered as such. Sam(uel) Smith aka Smitty was related to Leonard Allen - one of the founders of United - and worked in the Artists & Repertoire area and he got part of the writing credits. Dallas Taylor (3) though - who was a member of The Danderliers - was the only real writer.
