The Croissants is an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California, in 2010 by vocalist and guitarist Chris Sabatoni and bassist Hans White. They are a trio with drummer Sarah Shintaku, who joined after the recording of the band's debut studio album, Summer School Again. The Croissants are apart of the Sacramento DIY punk scene. Their early releases were on independent record labels such as Asian Man Records, Sacramento Records, and Pleasant Screams Cassettes. In 2017, they released a compilation album of those early recordings on their own label Brat Mag + Music called, That's Tight! In the summer of 2018, the band released their debut album, Summer School Again, recorded by Chris Woodhouse. The songs served as an outlet for their distaste of attending school and the Sacramento News & Review confirmed this in their review of the album stating that “no album quite sums up the dreadful feelings of being trapped in academia quite like The Croissants debut album.”
