Compil. US 1959 on Columbia label
Jazz and Latin (Cool Jazz)
Early stereo Columbia promotional single, issued as part of a package of six specially-pressed promotional records, housed in cardboard carrying case. These were presumably initially distributed to disc jockeys and industry figures; however, after the failure of the commercial retail stereo single format in 1960, whatever small number of copies of the package that remained were wholesaled to rackjobbers, for retail store sale. This is one of two stereo singles in the set to feature material from the then-new Brubeck "Time Out" album. This record contains the standard stereo LP version of "Take Five". It is housed in a special STEREO 33 sleeve. There are no catalog numbers for any of the six records in the set; however, the master numbers for each selection are printed on their respective labels.
