Formed in 2007 by Thomas Shrubsole. The Orchestra as it appears in the first album was a rotating cast of musician friends, convened by Thomas for 3 weeks of exploratory jamming in the Innerspace and Wumme tradition, with nods to english mavericks such as Coil and Eno. The intention with the Orchestra was and remains to create deep and immersive soundscapes harnessing the heightened group awareness of live improvisiation; 'Aiming for deep atmosphere and evocation... fluid sound and environment... Shared Worlds, through sound...' as the insert that came with the first few copies of 'The Dissolving Orchestra' puts it. All Boundaries Dissolved in Real-Time
