Compil. AU 2016 on Popboomerang Records label
Rock and Pop (Indie Pop, Indie Rock)
Popboomerang are extremely proud to announce the release of College Heart, a retrospective compilation of the best recordings by 1990's Melbourne guitar pop band The Earthmen. From their noisy beginnings as indie darlings, every song starting with guitar jangle and ending with a wall of noise, to their polished major label album, the songs are what always set them apart. At the time of the band's demise, they had been writing songs towards their second album for Warners. The band broke up during the first recording session, so many of the songs never got past the demo stage. In looking back through all their material for this retrospective, these demos were uncovered and judged to be worth inclusion. The next step was convincing the boys to get back together to record these unreleased songs and properly do them justice. The results stand proudly next to the best of the band's 1990's output.
