Steel band from Trinidad. Also known as 'The Esso Tripoli Steel Band'. For the Esso sponsored band from Barbados use Esso Steel band. Originally named "The TRIPOLI Trinidad Steel Band", the outfit briefly renamed themselves "The ESSO Trinidad Steel Band" when the petroleum corporation Esso began sponsoring the group in 1964. But when Esso cancelled its sponsorship, the group again rechristened itself to the Tripoli Trinidad Steel Band. Some copies of this LP had stickers affixed to the front replacing the word "Esso" in the title with "Tripoli"
