Rock and Pop
Since their formation in 2002, The Fatales’ credits have grown to include performances at the 2006 Under the Snow Music Festival in Montreal, the CMJ Music Marathon, Fort Reno in Washington, D.C., features in Billboard Magazine and NPR, as well as support slots for artists like A Place to Bury Strangers, Stars, The Album Leaf, The Dresden Dolls, Film School, Starlight Mints, Goldrush, Canyon, Jeffrey Lewis (Rough Trade), and Robert Schneider (Apples in Stereo). Their 7-track EP, 2004’s Pretty in Pixels, garnered critical acclaim for its glitchy, moody, atmospheric pop commonly drawing comparisons to Interpol and Radiohead. In the week of its release, the self-produced, self-released album was the #14 Most Added on CMJ and after two weeks, climbed to #34 on the CMJ Core Charts, receiving steady airplay on 3WK.com, XM Radio, WBCN’s “Nocturnal Emissions” hosted by legendary program director Oedipus, and even KCRW's famed "Morning Becomes Eclectic."
