Band,
Rock and Alternative
The Fish Brothers describe themselves as the world's only Punk Rock/Folk/Victorian Music Hall crossover band. They formed in legendary punk pub, The Eagle, on the same day in 1988 as The Levellers. The two bands agreed that if either of them "made it", the other would get a support slot on a major UK tour. The Fish Brothers duly supported the Levs on their 1993 UK tour. The Fish Brothers formed specifically to "wind people up" and got their name because that's what they drink like (ie Fish). The nucleus of the band are Edith Charnsworth (Vocals, also known as Martin Fish, real name Martin Cooper) and Chesty Charnsworth (No relation - Guitar) and in their early days they often performed as a two piece (and occasionally still do). The current line up also includes M. M. McGhee (Drums) and Baby David (Bass). Former bass players include Captain Sensible, Attila The Stockbroker and Taff from Disorder (3)
