Rock and Pop (Indie Rock)
CAROUSEL is pop rock for "now" people, music that melts in your mind, not on your turntable. It's clean and sharp, without being sticky or sweet. Sounding much like the early pre-harder-edged Dambuilders (Dambuilder Eric Masunaga produce CAROUSEL), complete with violin, this recording would not be out of place with that band's wonderful, early Spin Art releases. And wonderful this is; Jesse Blatz's vocals are unaffected and up front in the mix, perfect for smacking those irresistible hooks in your face. Recorded at Supersonic, Cambridge, and Sonics, Charlestown, Massachusetts. Personnel: Jesse Blatz (vocals, guitar); Colin Rhinesmith (vocals). Audio Mixer: Eric Masunaga. Recording information: Sonics, Charlestown, MA; Supersonic, Cambridge, MA. The Fly Seville: Jesse Blatz (vocals, guitar); Stacy Joy (violin, keyboards); Colin Rhinesmith (bass, background vocals); Randy Noonan (drums, percussion).
