Latin and Pop
The Gringos, formed in Adelaide in the late 60's by Marcello and Tommaso Gabellone with Miguel Salerno, released two EPs, "Introducing The Gringos" and (with vocalist Anna Rys) "Latin Fun". Enjoying a successful residency at the Trocadero Club playing a broad range of music underpinned by Latin American rhythms, they were regularly on Channel 10 in Adelaide where they hosted Continental Rendevous every Tuesday night. They moved to Sydney in 1970 where they performed regularly at the Summit Restaurant and released a live album recorded there. Relocated to Europe they continued to play in bars, clubs, restaurants and casinos; recordings made there were never released.
