A.k.a. The Tongues Of Truth
Garage rock group from Tucson, Arizona, U.S. Their biggest hit was proto-punk single "Let's Talk About Girls!" a tune that would be covered many times later, by such groups as The Undertones in 1979. Regarding the fact that people knew them as The Tongues Of Truth, their leader Manny Freiser wrote in his biography: "Keeping in mind that we had built name recognition with four singles as the Grodes, you'll understand why we almost passed out when Dan announced on the radio, "And now a brand new single, "Let’s Talk About Girls", by a great group from France -- FRANCE?!!! -- named The Tongues Of Truth!" We vowed to kill him. How could he do that -- just change our name without even asking?! He thought we lacked a sense of humor about it. This single was the one and only release by The Tongues (as people started calling us)."
